Holding her Dachshund in her arms, Sharon Repton and her 79-year-old mother, Doreen Temperton, climb to the top of Black Rocks to watch the dawn break over Cromford in the Derbyshire Peak District.<br />

Black Rocks is a small outcrop of natural gritstone, between Cromford and Wirksworth. The area has been a well-known rock climbing venue since the 1890s. A large number of hard lines were put up by some of the best climbers of the 1980s and 1990s. <br />
