Regularly filling up your garden bird-feeders with peanuts and seeds can attract a variety of splendid song-birds to your garden.

But one family, not content with merely attracting little song-birds, has swapped peanuts for prime cuts of beef to entice hundreds of giant birds-of-prey to their farm in Wales.

Every afternoon at 2pm hundreds of circling red kites wait for Chris Powell and his wife, Dominique, to toss-out 40 kilos of meat from their tractor and trailer before stooping down to pick up their free lunch.

“Today there were probably between four and five hundred birds. If there’s snow on the ground we feed them more and their can be twice as many birds” said Chris.
