An amateur astronomer photographs Mars and Venus as they appear above the horizon (bottom right of frame) over Magpie Mine, an old lead mine near Monyash, in the Derbyshire Peak District. It is the closest conjunction of the two planets since September 11, 2008. They won’t couple up this closely again until October 5, 2017<br />
